NOTE: Due to the EPK shortage, we can’t replenish our Sea Mix 5 stock at this time (read more here). We highly recommend our replacement clay, Sea Mix 6, as an alternative. Some people like it even better, and we’re offering 10% off if you try it! Use code SEASIX10 at checkout.

You can also try Sea Mix 5 with sand or grog as they perform very similarly, or one of our other white clays; we recommend Alpine White, Klamath White, or Vashon White

We appreciate you!

Sea Mix 5 is a mid-range stoneware clay body. This premium cream-white throwing clay has a smooth, porcelain texture, and is simple and fun to throw and sculpt. We get excellent results with most mid-range glazes. Fires to a gray/white color in reduction and lighter in oxidation.

Ideal for throwing, handbuilding, jiggering, pressing, and dinnerware.

Also offered with sand, grog, and paper. The fine grog we use in Sea Mix 5 with Sand provides a smoother fired texture and less speckling.

25 lb. block.

To use: wedge wet clay, work as preferred, and fire to ∆ 5. Use with mid-range glazes.

*Please be aware that natural impurities may occasionally occur in our clay! Our clays are made with natural minerals, mined from the earth. In some rare cases, natural impurities, or ribbons of other minerals, are mixed in with the raw materials provided by our suppliers. This can lead to clays that don’t perform the way they are supposed to. If you have any questions about a particular clay body, please reach out to info@seattlepotterysupply.com.
