Buttercup is a warm, glossy yellow glaze with soft white and dark blue colored glaze crystal bursts that add depth and interesting effects to ceramic work. That glaze crystals can be moved around with a paintbrush, which will affect where the different colored spots will appear.

  • Can this effect be achieved at cone fire 5-6?

    Unfortunately, this is a lowfire glaze, intended to be fired at cone 06-04. Likely, it will not achieve the same results at midrange temperatures. We do not have samples of this fired to midrange temperatures, but I suspect that the crystal colors would burn out, and the glaze would run.
