Ever heard of Dum Dum’s ‘Mystery’ Flavor? Well, our Mystery Clay is the clay version!
It's a combination of reclaimed clay from our content studio and various other clay production, plus what we get when we’ve finished one run of clay, cleared out the machine, and started a new batch. This means you might get a swirl of two clay bodies or a mixture of various clays—creating a true ode to unpredictability. It's our way of practicing sustainability. After all, waste not, want not.
And, because heck, why not? We’re offering you the opportunity to play with this unique clay as well! And at a rock-bottom price.
So, if you like the “box of chocolates” idea of not knowing what you’re getting until you bite into it, if you like the idea of your clay being a bit of an adventure, or even if you just want some inexpensive (but great) clay to play around with, well, this is the clay for you!
All clays have been compatibility tested and tested to ensure they vitrify at cone 5.
To use: wedge wet clay, work as preferred, and fire to ∆ 5. Use with mid-range glazes.
*Please be aware that natural impurities may occasionally occur in our clay! Our clays are made with natural minerals, mined from the earth. In some rare cases, natural impurities, or ribbons of other minerals, are mixed in with the raw materials provided by our suppliers. This can lead to clays that don’t perform the way they are supposed to. If you have any questions about a particular clay body, please reach out to info@seattlepotterysupply.com.
