Manganese Carbonate (MnCO₃) is a tan to pinkish powder used in ceramics primarily as a colorant in glazes and stains. It produces a range of brown, purple, and black hues depending on firing temperature, atmosphere, and glaze chemistry, and can slightly influence glaze melting in small amounts.
Manganese Carbonate is toxic if ingested or inhaled and can irritate skin and respiratory systems. Always wear gloves, a dust mask or respirator, and work in a well-ventilated area.
