Want to try a marbling wheel thrown pottery? Then our Klamath Clay Sample Flight is for you! A potter's sampling of four of our ever-popular and super colorful Klamath stoneware clay bodies, it includes one twelve lb. block each of our Klamath Buff, Klamath Yellow, Klamath White, and Klamath Brown Clay. All four fire at cone 5, and give you a nice color selection to play with.

We like all three for throwing, dinnerware, jiggering/jollying, and pressing. They are also great for handbuilding.

Block weight: 4 samples, 12 lbs.

FIRING RANGE: CONE 4 - 6 (2167-2232ºF). Best Results at CONE 5

Klamath Buff: Firing color: buff; texture: slightly smooth (<5% grog). Nothing can prepare you for the lush buffness of this clay when fired. It's also a super-functional clay that's good for whatever you want to do with it.

Klamath Yellow: Firing color: red/orange; texture: slightly smooth (<5% grog). Bright banana yellow when wet, Klamath Yellow turns a rich orange brown when fired. Clay magic!

Klamath White: Firing color: Cream; texture: slightly smooth (<5% grog). You need a good color contrast for great marbling, so we included our Klamath White. It’s a really good all-round clay with a nice creamy fired color.

Klamath Brown: Firing color: Brown; texture: slightly smooth (<5% grog). A deep, rich, dark-chocolate brown when fired. Yummy.

Ships FREE in the U.S. a USPS in a Large Flat Rate Box.

To use: wedge wet clay, work as preferred, and fire to ∆ 5. Use with mid-range glazes.

*Please be aware that natural impurities may occasionally occur in our clay! Our clays are made with natural minerals, mined from the earth. In some rare cases, natural impurities, or ribbons of other minerals, are mixed in with the raw materials provided by our suppliers. This can lead to clays that don’t perform the way they are supposed to. If you have any questions about a particular clay body, please reach out to info@seattlepotterysupply.com.
