Wondering what material this is made of and if it has a wash or glaze on it. I’m hoping to use as a riser in my oven and it may come in contact with food, so hoping to find out if it’s food safe. Thanks.

These kiln posts are made of mullite and other similar refractory ceramic materials. There is no wash or glaze on it. They are as food safe as a kiln shelf would be.
