This clay is great for handbuilding and for large raku pieces! There is mullite added for greater strength, for this reason we do not recommend beginners throwing with this clay. Fires to white at cone 5-6, best for use in a raku firing.
Please note: the color of the tile does not represent the color that will result post fire reduction from the raku firing process. See the "final fire" example for a closer representation.
25 lb. block.
To use: wedge wet clay, work as preferred, and fire to ∆ 04. Use with low-fire glazes.
*Please be aware that natural impurities may occasionally occur in our clay! Our clays are made with natural minerals, mined from the earth. In some rare cases, natural impurities, or ribbons of other minerals, are mixed in with the raw materials provided by our suppliers. This can lead to clays that don’t perform the way they are supposed to. If you have any questions about a particular clay body, please reach out to info@seattlepotterysupply.com.
