Iron Chromate

Iron Chromate (FeCrO₄) is a mixed oxide compound combining iron and chromium, used in ceramics as a strong coloring agent to produce deep green to chrome-green tones in glazes. Its color effects depend on glaze chemistry, firing temperature, and atmosphere, often yielding rich, saturated hues.

Iron Chromate may pose health risks due to the presence of chromium compounds, which can be toxic or carcinogenic in certain oxidation states. Always wear gloves, a dust mask or respirator, and work in a well-ventilated area. Do not ingest. Wash hands thoroughly after handling.
