Cone 06 oxidation (photo): A black shattered pattern of raised, irregular chips will emerge. The underlying glaze will appear in the cracks.
Cone 6 oxidation: Glaze will bead up on the surface of the piece. If applied over another glaze the texture flattens with similar cobblestone pattern.

Is this food safe? and paint on?
SG201 is food safe but not dinnerware safe. This is because the surface is textured. Food could get into the cracks and cause a buildup of bacteria. We recommend using this glaze on sculptural work or on the outside of vessels intended for dishware.
