How to use plaster molds for slip casting with clay

Have you thought about using plaster molds to make pottery projects? It's a fun way to expand your pottery repertoire and to make exact replicas for sets. In this video, potter Denny Porter shares the basic steps to get started casting your own pieces using clay slip.

You'll need the plaster mold of your choice, a few sticks, a mold band or rubber band, and casting slip (basically liquid clay). We're using our #5 White Casting Slip in this demonstration. A Jiffy Mixer on a hand drill also makes things easier!
