A matt metallic copper Raku glaze with an iridescent surface.

Directions: Stir thoroughly. Dilute with water if necessary. Brush, sponge, dip, or pour on properly matured bisque. Experiment, apply 1 thin coat. Fire when dry. For best results fire in Crucible Easy Riser Raku Kiln.

  • Because this glaze is matte can it be applied under the pieces without being stick to the kiln shelve?

    No. This product is still a glaze and will stick to a shelf or other pieces it is touching. The only products that will not stick to a shelf are underglazes. 

  • Hello. I want to buy glaze for raku. I am going to fire it in a bonfire. What do you recommend?

    RG152 needs to get to 1820 degrees Fahrenheit. You typically will not be able to get a bonfire this hot, meaning there will be no glaze effects. 

    Since you're doing a pit fire I would recommend looking into oxides. You can also use our Terra Sigillata which we carry in white and red. Other natural materials that can cause cool reactions are: copper wire, salt, sugar, seaweed, banana peels. 

  • can this raku glaze be used in traditional firing methods , electric kiln, say to cone 6 or 8?

    Technically our Raku glazes are low-fire, cone 04-06. However, they will not be in a reduction environment and therefore not produce the same results in an electric kiln.
