Want to try a marbling wheel thrown pottery? Then our Klamath Clay Sample Flight is for you! A potter's sampling of four of our ever-popular and super colorful Klamath stoneware clay bodies, it includes one twelve lb. block each of our Klamath Red, Klamath Yellow, Klamath Buff, and Klamath Brown Clay. All four fire at cone 5, and give you a nice color selection to play with.
We like all three for throwing, dinnerware, jiggering/jollying, and pressing. They are also great for handbuilding.
Block weight: 4 samples, 12 lbs.
FIRING RANGE: CONE 4 - 6 (2167-2232ºF). Best Results at CONE 5
Klamath Red: Firing color: red/brown; texture: slightly smooth (<5% grog). Nothing can prepare you for the lush red-brown of this clay when fired. Excellent with green and blue glazes.
Klamath Yellow: Firing color: red/orange; texture: slightly smooth (<5% grog). Bright banana yellow when wet, Klamath Yellow turns a rich orange brown when fired. Clay magic!
Klamath Buff: Firing color: Buff/tan; texture: slightly smooth (<5% grog). You need a good color contrast for great marbling, so we included our Klamath Buff It’s a really good, all-round clay with a nice toasty-buff fired color.
Klamath Brown: Firing color: Brown; texture: slightly smooth (<5% grog). A deep, rich, dark-chocolate brown when fired. Yummy.
Ships FREE in a USPS in a Large Flat Rate Box.
