Vashon White is a mid-range stoneware clay body. Designed for production ceramics work, it handles so well you won't realize you've been working.
Great for a whole bunch of things: throwing, handbuilding, dinnerware, tile, sanitaryware, jiggering/jollying, and pressing.
We also offer Vashon White Pottery Clay with added grog and paper, if you're looking for a similar clay that's better for sculpture.
To use: wedge wet clay, work as preferred, and fire to ∆ 5. Use with mid-range glazes.

Average shrinkage at ^6 Vashon White paperclay
We don’t currently have shrinkage data for Vashon White Paperclay at cone 6. Typically we report shrinkage at cone five, and even then results can sometimes vary do to minor variations in raw material shipments. We encourage testing shrinkage in your own studio. It’s always a good habit and luckily, very easy to do.
A simple method is to roll out a test tile, mark a 10 cm line into the clay, and then measure it again after drying and firing. This gives you a quick, accurate sense of both drying and firing shrinkage under your specific conditions.
