Tricalcium Phosphate (Ca₃(PO₄)₂), commonly known as Bone Ash, is used in ceramics as a flux and opacifier, especially in bone china and specialty glazes. It promotes a warm, translucent quality in porcelain and enhances glaze melt while maintaining stability and brightness. Bone Ash is often included in glaze recipes to encourage crystal formation or to add depth and opacity to white glazes.
Dust may irritate the respiratory system, eyes, and skin. Always wear gloves, a dust mask or respirator, and work in a well-ventilated area. Avoid ingestion and wash hands thoroughly after handling.
