Here's the smoother, whiter raku body you've been waiting for! This clay is great for throwing and is smoother than our Pipenberg Raku clay (though note that it still is medium-coarse in order to stand up to the rigors of raku firing, and therefore will be rough on the hands when throwing).
Please note: the color of the tile does not represent the color that will result post fire reduction from the raku firing process. See the "final fire" examples for a closer representation.
25 lb. block.
To use: wedge wet clay, work as preferred, and fire to ∆ 04. Use with low-fire glazes.
*Please be aware that natural impurities may occasionally occur in our clay! Our clays are made with natural minerals, mined from the earth. In some rare cases, natural impurities, or ribbons of other minerals, are mixed in with the raw materials provided by our suppliers. This can lead to clays that don’t perform the way they are supposed to. If you have any questions about a particular clay body, please reach out to info@seattlepotterysupply.com.
