Ball Clay (M&D) Kentucky Stone is a highly plastic ball clay known for its excellent forming qualities and consistent performance in ceramic bodies. It fires to a light buff or cream color, making it especially useful in stoneware and mid-range clays where both strength and color response are important. Its fine particle size adds green strength and workability, while blending easily with other clays and fluxes.
Substitutes for Ball Clay (M&D) Kentucky Stone include OM-4 and Old Hickory 54-S, which share similar plasticity and firing properties, though adjustments to recipes may be needed to match color and shrinkage characteristics.
